| Oakland Church of the Nazarene is a
Bible-believing Nazarene congregation in the tradition of John Wesley.
We believe —
In one Creator God, who reveals himself as Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit; and in the deity of Jesus Christ.
That the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
That all people have sinned and need God’s grace and
forgiveness, which is freely available to all through Jesus’ death on
the cross.
That God draws us to Himself, but the decision to
respond is ours.
That an individual must regret his sins, desire to
change, and trust in Christ to receive forgiveness and eternal life.
That as Christians, we need to offer our whole lives
to God (the biblical word for this is “sanctification”). When we give
ourselves to God in this way, the Holy spirit can fully mold us into
being like Christ; His perfect love is reflected in our attitudes and
actions.
That the Church is the Body of Christ, carrying out
His purposes in the world.
The God can bring healing through a variety of ways,
including miracles and medicine.
That Jesus Christ is coming again.
In the sacraments of baptism and Communion (also known
as the Lord’s Supper).
