Working with children and families in the Upward Sports™ program is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. There are so many great ways to serve that anyone can be involved, regardless of their abilities or experience.

Volunteer Opportunities

You could volunteer in the following areas:

Head Coach

Time commitment: 3 hours a week

Impact the lives of children and have fun while you volunteer as a head coach! Use your talents to teach sport fundamentals as well as the value of sportsmanship, teamwork, integrity and respect for authority. Never coached before? Don't worry, we will provide you with all the resources necessary to teach the sport, share life lessons and coach your team.

Assistant Coach

Time commitment: 3 hours a week

Make a difference in the lives of children by helping the head coach teach both athletic skills and values for success on and off the court.

Cheerleading Coach

Time commitment: 3 hours a week

If you have lots of spirit and love cheering on teams while they play the games, our Upward Sports™ league needs you! Make a lasting impact in the lives of children by volunteering to be a cheerleading coach.

Referee

Time commitment: 1-4 hours a week (on Saturdays)

Did you play basketball growing up or have a great understanding of the game? If so, use this gift to make an impact in the lives of children as an Upward Sports™ referee.

Prayer Partner

Time commitment: 5 minutes a day for 100 days

Will you partner with us through prayer as we week God in every aspect of our Upward Sports™ league? We are in need of those who will be committed to praying each day for our Upward Sports™ season to change lives.

Half-Time Devotions

Time commitment: 10 minutes

Share your testimony or use one of your talents in a short presentation during halftimes.

Follow Up

Time commitment: on-going

Have a passion for writing notes, making phone calls, or visiting with others? Help our league by using those gifts. By volunteering in this way, you will be able to minister to those individuals who have expressed a faith related response anytime during the Upward Sports™ season.

Game Announcers

Time commitment: 1-4 hours a week (on Saturdays)

Game announcers help provide the Best Sports Experience by creating an atmosphere of fun and excitement on game day.

Concessions

Time commitment: 1-4 hours a week (on Saturdays)

Help support our Upward Sports™ ministry by selling concessions at the games. You can impact the lives of parents and children through your hospitality and friendliness.
