What We Believe

God

We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, who reveals Himself

as Father, Son, and Spirit.
Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus

We believe in Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man at the same time, who became like us to bring about our salvation.
Matthew 1:20-25, 16:15-16; John 1:1-19

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is active in the world, helping us understand the Bible and what is right and wrong. He also works to transform our character.
John 14:15-18, 16:7-15; Romans 8:1-17

Scripture

We believe that the Bible is the supernaturally inspired Word of God, giving us all we need to know about how to be saved and live a life pleasing to God.
2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

Sin

We believe that we are all sinners by both nature and behavior and need both God's forgiveness and cleansing. This is made possible through the work of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 3; Romans 3:23, 5:12-14, 6:15-21

New Life in Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross and that, by trusting in His death, our sins can be forgiven and we can be restored to a right relationship to God.
Isaiah 53:5-6; John 3:14-17

We believe that God has enabled us to turn to Him from sin but that He has not forced us to do so. Furthermore, throughout our lifetimes we retain the right to choose God’s will or reject it.
Genesis 2:16-17; John 1;12; Galatians 6:7-8

We believe that each person must repent or turn away from his sins. Changes in behavior evidence a change of heart.
Isaiah 55:6-7; Acts 17:30-31

We believe that after being born anew, we need the fullness of God's Spirit in our hearts (Sanctification). When we make a complete commitment to Him, He cleanses our spirit, fills us with His perfect love, and gives us the power to live victoriously.
Matthew 3:11, 22:37-40; 1 John 4:17-18

The Church

We believe that the Church is the active Body of Christ in the world today. It is called together by the Holy Spirit, through the Word, for the purpose of fulfilling God's plan for the world until Christ returns.
1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Ephesians 5:25-27

Baptism

Every Christian is to undergo water baptism as an outward sign of what

has happened on the inside. We recognize all prior "Christian baptisms."
Matthew 26:16-20; Acts 2:37-4

Communion

We believe that Christians are to partake in Communion or the Lord's Supper on

a regular basis in remembrance of the sacrifice of Jesus. It is also a means of grace.
Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32

Divine Healing

We believe God can supernaturally heal. We also believe that God can work through

medical science.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10; James 5:13-16

The Future

We believe that Jesus is coming again.
John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

We believe that everyone will face the judgment of God with its rewards and punishments.
Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:11-15
