Dave is an Iowan and a Nazarene by birth and by choice. He was saved as a child, and then sanctified and called into ministry as a teen. He did his undergrad work at MidAmerican Nazarene University and graduate work at Nazarene Theological Seminary. In 1994 he married Tracy, a native Cedar Rapidian and product of Oakland Nazarene. The Kings have two amazing daughters, Grace and Anna. 

 

While in seminary, Dave pastored a small Evangelical Friends church in Bonner Springs, Kansas.  After seminary, Dave pastored the Church of the Nazarene in Warrensburg, Missouri and served there 10 years. In 2004 Dave was called to serve as lead pastor at Oakland Nazarene.

Some of Dave's hobbies include participating in basketball, volleyball, and golf, and he also likes to fly fish. He is an Iowa Hawkeye fan through and through. Many consider Dave a good cook and landscaper. He is devoted to his family and His Lord.

Preaching is his passion, but he enjoys every aspect of pastoral ministry. He has been rescued by the amazing grace of God and is giving his life to help others do the same. Dave is honored to serve as lead pastor of Oakland and hopes to continue in that capacity for years to come.
