Alabaster offering provides funds for property and buildings around the world. Alabaster funds help provide land for many Work & Witness projects, and the entire Alabaster Offering goes toward the purchase of land and construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers.
Prayer – PML
The Prayer Mobilization Line (PML) is a weekly publication focusing on the prayer needs and praise reports for the global ministries of the Church of the Nazarene and our missionaries. It is available in English and Spanish. Anyone can subscribe to receive PML, free of charge, via e-mail click here.
Following the example of Jesus, NCM partners with local Nazarene congregations around the world to clothe, shelter, feed, heal, educate, and live in solidarity with those who suffer under oppression, injustice, violence, poverty, hunger, and disease. December is Compassionate Ministries Emphasis month in the Church of the Nazarene.
Work and Witness Trips
One way to get involved in missions is to participate in a short term Work and Witness trip. Going on a mission trip can change your life. In the past 10 years, Oakland Church has taken four mission trips. We have gone to Chalchuapa, El Salvador three times on a Maxima Mission to work with the local Nazarene church. We have also sent a team to Dilkon, Arizona to serve on the Navajo Reservation.
Faith Promise giving is a biblical method used for raising financial support for world evangelization. Each year we have a Family Missions Weekend where our church has the opportunity to learn about missions as well as hear from a missionary speaker. On Sunday of the Missions Weekend we have the opportunity to make our Faith Promise commitment for the year.
